A step forward

According to Irina Heaver, a partner at the law firm NeosLegal in the UAE, this ruling represents a substantial shift in the court's stance.
Previously, cryptocurrencies were not recognized as a legal form of payment due to their volatile valuation.

The case that changed perception

The case that led to this groundbreaking decision involved an employee who sued their employer for unpaid wages and sought compensation for wrongful termination.
The court ruled in favor of the employee and ordered that the wages be paid in cryptocurrency as specified in the employment contracts,
without the need for conversion to fiat currency.

This verdict not only recognizes cryptocurrencies as a valid option for wage payments but also highlights how quickly legal frameworks
are adapting to new technologies and financial innovations.
