The newly launched solution allows customers to trade cryptocurrencies 24/7 through ZKB's eBanking and ZKB Mobile Banking platforms. Cryptocurrencies will be fully integrated into their portfolios, providing clients with a comprehensive view of all their investments in one place.
Secure storage of private keys
ZKB takes responsibility for the secure storage of cryptocurrencies, meaning clients do not need to have their own wallet or worry about the security of their private keys. This service is aimed not only at individual customers but also at third parties and banks, who can use ZKB’s solution to offer cryptocurrency services to their own clients.
According to Alexandra Scriba, Head of Institutional Clients at ZKB, the bank provides a high level of security to its customers and is prepared to expand its offering to include additional cryptocurrencies.
Collaboration with other banks
Thurgauer Kantonalbank, the first partner bank to join this initiative, will utilize ZKB's crypto services for trading and securely storing cryptocurrencies. Crypto transactions will be processed through Crypto Finance AG, a subsidiary of the German multinational Deutsche Börse Group.
Commitment to Innovation
ZKB has been exploring digital assets for several years. In 2021, the bank participated in issuing the world’s first digital bond on the SIX Digital Exchange and continues to research and develop cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies.
The launch of cryptocurrency trading by ZKB marks a significant step toward making cryptocurrencies a mainstream part of banking services in Switzerland and increasing public trust in digital assets.
